AEW Dynamite Match Scrapped Due To Medical Protocols

The match just didn't happen

While the January 19 edition of AEW Dynamite featured the return of Jon Moxley, Sting in action, and Brody King's in-ring debut as part of The Kings Of The Black Throne, one scheduled match did not take place on the show.

It was announced last week that FTR would take on Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson on Wednesday's show but the match just didn't take place, with it not being mentioned during Dynamite nor in tweets earlier that day.

According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, the tag team match was scrapped due to medical protocols. It is unknown, however, who failed the medical protocols between the participants, Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson, or the reason for the failure.

AEW hope to reschedule the match for a later date.

While Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson have had issues in AEW stretching back to 2019, the feud between FTR and Johnson & Brock Anderson is a new one, with hostilities having arisen after Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood and Blanchard tried to recruit Brock last week.
