Rey Fenix could be back in the squared circle soon.

The popular luchador appeared to suffer a serious injury in early January during The Lucha Brothers' AEW World Tag Team Title defence against Jurassic Express. After he was Chokeslammed from the apron through a table below by Luchasaurus, Fenix's arm horribly hyperextended when he tried to brace his fall and it was initially believed he had broken his arm.

It was later announced, though, that Fenix had only suffered a dislocation and didn't sustain any broken bones. Although further visits to a doctor were required for a full diagnosis.

While no full diagnosis has been announced, Fenix's return doesn't appear to be too far away.

According to Dave Meltzer, there is hope the former AAA Mega Champion can return in mid-February.

"Fenix - hopeful for mid-February. So not out as long as we perhaps feared when we first saw the injury," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The Lucha Brothers lost the AEW World Tag Team Title in the aforementioned match against Jurassic Express. If they will receive a rematch for the gold remains to be seen, though.
