AEW: Dynamite Results - March 3, 2021: The Crossroads

The last stop before AEW: Revolution

AEW: Dynamite was heavily promoted going into this week, serving not only as the go-home for AEW: Revolution on Sunday March 7, but also as a special episode dubbed ‘The Crossroads’.

The show opened with the long awaited Cody Rhodes & Red Velvet against Jade Cargill & Shaquille O’Neal match. Shaq got a surprising amount of offence in, nailing Cody with some huge chops and an even bigger powerbomb, before Cody splashed Shaq off the apron through two tables. Cargill and Velvet worked the majority of the match, and Cargill got the win with the Implant Buster in her debut.

Rey Fenix & PAC quickly squashed John Skyler & D3, before we heard from Chris Jericho and MJF at their press conference. Jericho and Friedman fielded questions from Barstool Sports, Conrad Thompson, and Eric Bischoff, before The Young Bucks came out to praise their dad - viciously beaten up last week by The Inner Circle - before a huge brawl erupted. Nick Jackson hit a swanton off of the entrance on Ortiz through a table, as Matt Jackson crushed Santana with an elbow drop off of the stage.

We heard from FMW’s Atsushi Onita ahead of Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley’s Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at Revolution, before heading back to the ring for FTR & Tully Blanchard vs. The Jurassic Express. FTR & Tully had legendary Four Horseman manager J.J. Dillon at ringside with them, eventually getting the win after interference from a returning Shawn Spears. The five men hugged in ring, as Arn Anderson came out to flash the Horsemen signal at Dillon.

Tony Schiavone introduced Paul Wight who promised a huge signing from a Hall of Fame worthy competitor at Revolution, before we got the Finals of The AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament as Ryo Mizunami defeated Nyla Rose. Post-match AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida presented Mizunami with a trophy, before the two exchanged blows,

Tony Schiavone returned to the ring to interview Sting who said Brian Cage's huge powerbomb the other week awoke something in him, before Team Taz ran out for a fight. Darby Allin made the save.

We had the final Face of the Revolution Ladder Match qualifier as The Acclaimed’s Max Caster defeated Dark Order’s 10 after a sneak attack by Jack Evans on behalf of Matt Hardy. Miro cut a short promo backstage saying that everyone who has been waiting for him to stop playing games will finally get their wish at Revolution when he and Kip Sabian take on Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor.

Tonight's main event saw Hangman Page & John Silver defeat Marq Quen & Matt Hardy. Post-match Hardy viciously attacked Page, as Dark Order made the save. Shortly after, all the participants in the Tag Team Royal at Revolution ran down for a huge brawl to close the show.
