AEW: Dynamite Results - November 3 2021

Ten days until Full Gear

We are ten days away from AEW Full Gear and the card for AEW’s final PPV of the year has almost fallen into place.

The big news going into this week’s edition of Dynamite was the status of Jon Moxley, with the former AEW World Champion checking himself into rehab. As a result, Moxley wasn’t in the building for his AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Semi Final against Orange Cassidy, so ‘The Redeemer’ Miro took his place instead.

The two went hell-for-leather in Dynamite’s main event, with the winner taking on Bryan Danielson in the finals at Full Gear. Miro dominated large portions of the bout, but Orange Cassidy ‘tried’ and hit a spirited comeback, including a huge cross body block through the timekeeper’s table. But all that did was anger Miro, who thwarted an Orange Punch attempt and got the submission win with Game Over.

Danielson came out to shake Miro’s hand after the bell, but God’s former favourite champion stared daggers at The American Dragon, and the two will collide at Full Gear for a future shot at the AEW World Championship.

The champion himself Kenny Omega was in action tonight, taking on Dark Order’s number five - Alan Angels. Angels was out to make a name for himself, and took the fight to Omega at times, but Omega is on another level, and sealed the deal with three V Triggers for the victory, before sending a message with a One Winged Angel onto a chair. Hangman Page made the save, and told Kenny to hold on tight to the AEW World Title, because in ten days time, it will become property of The Hangman.

Malakai Black continued his mind-games with Cody Rhodes, insinuating that somebody very close to Rhodes will betray him, like Brutus did Caesar. If and when that betrayal will happen is up in the air, as Cody’s cabal were all on the same page tonight as Rhodes took on Andrade el Idolo. The two threw out homages to Dusty and Flair as they went hold for hold. But when Cody was in the driver’s seat he went for a tope suicida, but ate gold as FTR smashed The American nightmare in the face with the AAA Tag Titles before Andrade hit the Hammerlock DDT for the three.

Jamie Hayter advanced to the next round of the TBS Championship Tournament after defeating Anna Jay, thanks to some help from Rebel and Britt Baker. Post-match the three lay on a hellacious beatdown on Jay, before Tay Conti and Thunder Rosa made the save. Seems like there’s unfinished business between Rosa and Baker after all.

MJF did what he does best by angering everyone in the arena and Darby Allin. MJF ran down his Full gear opponent and said he could beat him easily. This brought out Darby, but before MJF could lay a hand on him, Sting and an army of Stingers appeared on the ramp to cut him off. Wardlow and Shawn Spears came out to fight Sting and his commandos, as MJF and Darby brawled through the stands.

Elsewhere: FTR defended their AAA Tag titles against Aero Star and Samurai del Sol (fka Kalisto in WWE). John Silver called out Adam ‘Budge’ Cole for a match on Rampage. Speaking of Cole, he ended up on the wrong end of a Conchairto from Christian Cage as Jurassic Express and The SuperKliq brawled all over the venue. American Top Team and The Inner Circle had a war of words, with Dan Lambert being picked to join Men of the Year, Andrei Arlovski, and Junior Dos Santos in their upcoming ten-man match at Full Gear. Paige VanZant wanted in, maybe next time. And CM Punk praised Jon Moxley for getting help, before calling Eddie Kingston out to face him next week.

Full results:

  • Jamie Hayter def. Anna Jay - TBS Championship Tournament
