Forget the Monday Night Wars, it's time for the Family Guy Wars.
AEW has seen its programming go head-to-head with the likes of WWE’s NXT & SmackDown, the NFL, and presidential debates, but it now has a new challenger when it comes to TV ratings, and it comes in the form of Family Guy.
After more than two decades airing on a Sunday night, FOX has revealed that from March 2024, Family Guy will be moving to Wednesdays. Despite it being a show which can see repeats, and has been on the air for a long time now, it still draws a large viewership to this day, which could spell some trouble for AEW Dynamite, which has aired on a Wednesday night ever since its inception.
Although Family Guy will only air for 30 minutes during AEW Dynamite’s two-hour broadcast, it could still take a chunk of viewers away. At a time when AEW will be looking to renew their TV deal, losing more eyes certainly won’t be ideal for Tony Khan’s flagship weekly show.
