After years of anticipation, All Elite Wrestling and THQ Nordic have announced that AEW Fight Forever - the promotion's first-ever console video game - will be released on Thursday, June 29. The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

AEW Fight Forever Creative Director Kenny Omega said: "When I first signed with AEW, Tony Khan gave me the opportunity to assemble the best gaming team that understands and respects professional wrestling, to make the best wrestling games ever. Thanks to our incredible collaboration with Geta, YUKE's and THQ Nordic, a new era of professional wrestling gaming is quickly approaching. AEW: Fight Forever has exceeded my highest expectations, and I'm confident that June 29 will be a momentous day for wrestling fans and gamers alike."

Within the press release announcing the launch of AEW Fight Forever, All Elite Wrestling and THQ Nordic touted the game's "retro approach to design, including hand-crafted animations and nostalgic arcade feel." The game will also feature a career mode, multiplayer, and multiple customisation modes.

Match types in AEW Fight Forever include:

  • Single Matches
  • Tag-Team
  • 3-Way
  • 4-Way
  • Ladder Matches
  • Casino Battle Royale
  • Falls Count Anywhere
  • Unsanctioned Lights-Out (allows use of weapons and, of course, lots of blood)
  • Exploding Barbed Wire Death Matches

All Elite Wrestling announced back in 2020 that a console video game was in development. A full roster has yet to be revealed but the likes of Kenny Omega, MJF, Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Cody Rhodes, Darby Allin, and Chris Jericho will be playable in the title.
