It was revealed over the last week that AEW had filed a brand new trademark for “AEW Redemption”, which looks to be a brand new PPV being added to the 2026 schedule. It was noted that this new show could take place in July between Forbidden Door and All In 2026. When it comes to what fans could see on the show, a brand new match may be taking place.
AEW has now filed a trademark along this potential new PPV name by looking to trademark the term “Royal Redemption”. It was filed on April 24, 2026 and is presently awaiting examination. It is listed as covering entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests, live professional wrestling performances, production of professional wrestling programs and events, and production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.
There has been speculation that this could be a match type added to AEW Redemption, with fans already comparing it to something that may be similar to WWE’s Royal Rumble concept. AEW has brought its own different types of Battle Royal or multi-person match concepts over the years such as the Casino Battle Royal, Casino Gauntlet, Blackjack Battle Royal, the Royal Rampage, and Casino Ladder Match, though nothing that has been tied to a specific PPV or event each year.
