Maya World and Hyan at AEW Collision

All Elite Wrestling hold a heavy interest in Maya World and Hyan, the tag team that replaced Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize on the November 8 edition of AEW Collision.

Fightful Select has reported that World and Hyan were booked in a seven-minute match on the November 15 episode of Collision against Riho and Alex Windsor as a direct result of how well they handled subbing in for Newell and Alize at the last minute on November 8 for a match with TayJay.

AEW have yet to sign Maya World and Hyan, but the company are heavily interested in using them moving forward. It reportedly wouldn't be a surprise to see the promotion sign them to deals sooner rather than later.

Both Maya World and Hyan have been lauded for their performances on the independent wrestling scene. World has been wrestling since 2023 and she has been booked as an enhancement talent by AEW/ROH on several occasions since December of 2023. Hyan has been performing since 2015 and she was first utilised as an enhancement talent by AEW in 2021.

Maya World and Hyan received the opportunity to compete on the November 8 episode of AEW Collision after Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize walked out of the taping. Newell and Alize believed a three-minute match with TayJay wouldn't benefit anyone and stated to AEW officials they didn't want to work the match, which resulted in AEW informing them they could leave.

Newell and Alize's disagreement with AEW came after there had already been issues in their debut match against Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir, with Bayne said to be frustrated by a lack of cooperation from her opponents, particularly on a double German suplex spot in which it appeared Newell and Alize didn't jump.

Newell and Alize claimed following the incident there was no bad blood between themselves and AEW, but it was soon reported that was not the case and the expectation was they wouldn't be booked again by All Elite Wrestling.
