AEW Possibly Bringing New Show To Fox

AEW heading to Fox?

All Elite Wrestling programming may soon be airing on the former home of Friday Night SmackDown.

It emerged this week that AEW were in talks with another media company outside of Warner Bros. Discovery and that the new media rights deal with WBD may not be exclusive. Fightful Select has now reported that one source has claimed that Fox and AEW have been in contact and there has been internal discussions within pro wrestling and the TV industry about an AEW show moving to Fox. AEW recently filed to trademark 'AEW: Shockwave' so that could be the name of a possible new series.

Fox was the home of WWE SmackDown from October 2019 until September 6, 2024. Fox have looked to bring additional pro wrestling programming to their family of networks in recent years and a deal was almost reached with MLW to bring shows to Tubi but the deal did not come together following alleged WWE interference. Sources close to Fox indicated to Fightful and Andrew Zarian that the network would be interested in retaining pro wrestling if the right deal was available.

All Elite Wrestling are currently signed to an exclusive deal with WBD which came together after Collision was added to AEW's slate of weekly programming. AEW and WBD are believed to be very close on a new media rights deal which Tony Khan gave a 90 per cent chance of being announced within the next month.
