AEW Reportedly Make Contract Offer To WWE's Adam Cole

Is an Elite reunion on the horizon?

Adam Cole could be AEW bound.

It emerged earlier this week that Cole's WWE contract expired in July following The Great American Bash, to the surprise of WWE officials who thought he was tied up until early 2022. Cole ultimately agreed to a short-term extension with WWE soon after and he will remain with the company through SummerSlam weekend. The former NXT Champion's match hasn't been officially announced as of yet but he is expected to put over Kyle O'Reilly at NXT TakeOver 36.

Reports have noted that WWE are yet to submit a formal offer to Cole, but both sides are currently locked in negotiations over a new deal.

Cole has drawn interest from elsewhere, though, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that All Elite Wrestling have made an offer to the 32-year-old. As of earlier this week, Cole had not accepted an offer from either company.

AEW's interest in Cole won't come as a surprise to many. He has remained friends with his former Bullet Club teammates in The Elite and Cole's girlfriend Britt Baker is the reigning AEW Women's World Champion.
