Renee Paquette Reveals WWE Non-Compete Clause Expires Soon

Paquette left WWE last year

Renee Paquette has revealed her WWE non-compete clause is set to expire in the near future, with the broadcaster contemplating her next move.

Paquette - as Renee Young - departed WWE following SummerSlam 2020, citing her belief that she had accomplished everything she wanted to within the company. Aside from featuring for WWE on a couple of one-offs, notably to help promote the Royal Rumble and during the WrestleMania 37 watch-along, Paquette hasn't worked for a wrestling promotion since.

The former Monday Night Raw announcer has now indicated that her non-compete with the promotion is set to come to an end soon, allowing her to explore other opportunities within the world of wrestling.

Speaking during her interview with Wrestling Inc, Paquette said: "My non-compete with WWE is nearly up.

“I still have a good standing relationship with WWE. There’s no ill-will or bad blood or anything like that."

Paquette suggested that she isn't looking to get away from wrestling, despite finding success out of it in the past and since leaving WWE. With husband Jon Moxley in All Elite Wrestling, she hasn't ruled out the prospect of joining AEW either.

“I don’t ever want to separate myself from professional wrestling. I know that’s where my fanbase comes from; I know that’s essentially going to always be my bread and butter — and I love that. I love professional wrestling, so I’m not looking to ‘get away’ from it by any stretch.

"Looking at AEW, I think there are endless opportunities of other things I could be doing over there, if that was to be something that came up down the line. I’ve honestly not put much thought into it."
