AEW's Cody: "It Feels Really Good To Be Cody Rhodes Again"

WWE recently abandoned it's claim to the name...

Back on April 13, All Elite Wrestling's Cody filed to trademark "Cody Rhodes" after WWE's trademark expired. The American Nightmare's former employers later filed to renew the trademark in May, citing COVID-19 as the reason for late registration, and Cody's application was refused on June 30 by the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

The path was paved for Cody to trademark "Cody Rhodes" in recent days, though, after WWE filed a notice of cancellation with the USPTO on November 2. The cancellation notice was then processed in the early hours of November 4. News of the cancellation was first reported by Heel By Nature

Cody has until the end of January 2021 to update his application for the trademark or it will be abandoned.

Cody commented on the situation following last night's episode of Dynamite. He first hyped up new Nightmare Family members The Gunn Club following their six-man tag team match against The Dark Order and ended the brief interaction with the crowd by shouting: "It feels really good to be Cody Rhodes again!"
