AEW’s Cody Rhodes Discusses When He Might Retire

Rhodes teased retirement on this week’s Dynamite

As seen on the latest edition of AEW: Dynamite, AEW EVP Cody Rhodes teased retirement after being defeated by a debuting Malakai Black.

Whilst the whole affair seemed little more than an angle to write Rhodes off of TV, Cody discussed his eventual retirement with Inside the Ropes Magazine, saying he planned to hang up his boots by the time he reached 40:

“I hope I change my mind, too, because [my daughter] will be four years old by the time I retire, basically, and I don’t know if that’s good enough," said Rhodes "I need her to... like, eight years old, I could have a good match and then I think she could be good with it. But it all depends on if my back holds up.”

Rhodes’ ‘retirement’ was ruined by another attack from Black, but it seems Rhodes will be off TV for a little while at least, with Cody signed up as a judge on the second season of The Go Home Show, as well as likely taking some time off to spend time with his young family.
