AEW's Darby Allin Recalls Meeting Sting For The First Time
Darby and Sting met for the first time an hour before Sting’s debut
The pairing of Darby Allin and Sting on AEW television has been a hit with wrestling fans, with the aesthetic and attitude of The Stinger and Darby making the pair a natural fit.
Now, during a panel at Terrifcon, Darby revealed he only met Sting an hour before the WCW legend’s Dynamite debut at AEW: Dynamite Winter is Coming special in December 2020:
“For Sting, it was cool because I didn’t meet him until pretty much, you know, an hour or two before he went out there and he didn’t know much of me at the time but he just knew my promo videos and the one I showed him was me running my friend over with a car, so he was like, ‘I’m gonna be in good hands with this guy.’ He was cool, he’s open to anything. He’s a real great dude,” said Darby.
Sting and Darby have teamed together in several matches in AEW, taking on the likes of Team Taz, and The Men of the Year (Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky).
