AEW's Eddie Kingston Reveals Why He Missed Indie Show

COVID-19 affects the card

Eddie Kingston has explained why he missed DEFY Wrestling's Dark Horse show on Saturday, December 18.

Taking to Twitter, The Mad King revealed he was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and has since been cleared.

"So @defyNW I was exposed to someone who tested positive for covid, so I didn't want to take any risk until I got cleared and I am. I promise to get to Seattle 2022," Kingston tweeted.

The 40-year-old was scheduled to face Schaff at the event. He was replaced by No Way.

Several AEW wrestlers were still in action at Dark Horse despite Kingston's absence, including Lio Rush. Christopher Daniels even won the DEFY Interim Title, defeating Brody King in the main event.

While he has established himself as one of AEW's most popular stars, Kingston continues to wrestle regularly on the independent wrestling scene. He has made two appearances for DEFY in 2021, defeating Ethan HD and Schaff alongside Brody King, and Rocky Romero in a singles match.
