Over the past 10 months, The Elite has been a dysfunctional faction. "Hangman" Adam Page has been a reluctant member ever since he turned to alcohol and the group was almost swept up in a civil war ahead of their AEW World Tag Team Championship match at Revolution. While The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Hangman were able to patch up their differences at Double Or Nothing, the wounds have never truly healed and it all boiled to the surface on last night's episode of Dynamite.

During the Gauntlet match to determine the number one contenders for the tag team title, The Young Bucks were ready to advance as Nick Jackson had Trent? set up for the Meltzer Driver. Matt Jackson never got the chance to leap off the ropes, however, as Page snuck to the ring and grabbed his friend's leg. This gave Trent? the opening he needed to counter and roll up Nick to eliminate The Young Bucks from the match. Hangman's new friends in FTR went on to win the bout and they will face Page and Omega at All Out on September 5.

Later in the show, Nick and Matt Jackson found Page sitting at a bar. They admonished their friend for being nothing more than a drunk since November and they admitted they had been naive to believe the old Hangman Page would ever return. Matt then threw Hangman's drink and they told him he was out of The Elite.

What this means for Kenny Omega and Page's tag team title reign will be revealed in the weeks to come. Catch every episode of AEW: Dynamite live and on demand on FITE.
