AEW World Champion Jon Moxley Tops 2020 PWI 500

Since Pro Wrestling Illustrated started publishing the PWI 500 back in 1991, it has become an annual event within the industry. The top names in professional wrestling have received the honour in the past, including "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Kenny Omega, Roman Reigns, Hulk Hogan and Sting.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated revealed yesterday Jon Moxley was ranked number one in the PWI 500 for 2020. The evaluation period to determine the rankings ran from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. Wrestlers were ranked using the following criteria:
• Win-loss record
• Technical ability
• Influence on the sport
• Success against the highest grade of competition
• Success against the most diverse competition
• Activity

During the evaluation period, Moxley achieved enormous success in AEW. He remains undefeated in singles matches in the promotion and went on to capture the AEW World Championship from Chris Jericho at Revolution. He has held on to the title ever since.
