After almost a month of matches, Konosuke Takeshita's run in NJPW G1 Climax 34 is over.

The AEW star faced Yota Tsuji in the quarter-finals of the G1 Climax today but Takeshita ultimately lost to the Los Ingobernables de Japon member following two Gene Blaster spears. This means Tsuji will face IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay in the semi-finals, while Takeshita will be heading back to AEW. When exactly Takeshita will resurface on AEW programming is unknown, however.

Takeshita scored five wins during his time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, picking up victories against Ren Narita, El Phantasmo, HENARE, Jeff Cobb, and Yota Tsuji in the B Block to advance to the playoffs.

In the other quarter-final match, Shingo Takagi defeated Great-O-Khan following Last of the Dragon. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion will face Zack Sabre Jr. in the semi-finals.

The final of G1 Climax 34 will emanate from Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan on Sunday, August 18. The winner will earn a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4, 2025 inside the Tokyo Dome.
