Report: AEW Close To Signing Top Indy Star
Top indy talent likely signing with AEW
All Elite Wrestling are seemingly set to sign a top independent wrestling talent.
Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has reported that sources within RevPro have claimed Michael Oku and Amira are close to signing with AEW and they are expected to put pen to paper in the near future. Talents within RevPro hoped Oku would end up in AEW and they noted how deserving the 31-year-old was of possibly being signed.
Sources within AEW noted they hadn't heard about Michael Oku signing but they wouldn't be surprised to see him at AEW's upcoming shows in the United Kingdom.
Past reports have noted that Michael Oku and Amira had been discussed for AEW All In on Sunday, August 25 and the AEW Dynamite and Collision tapings in Cardiff, Wales on August 21. Oku recently unsuccessfully challenged MJF for the AEW American Championship at RevPro Summer Sizzler, with Will Ospreay making his return to the promotion post-match to save Amira from a Tiger Driver '91.
Michael Oku is one of the top stars on the UK independent wrestling scene as the reigning RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion.
