Malakai Black has revealed he is filming a show for fight-wear company Hayabusa about how martial arts and professional wrestling tie together.

One of AEW's most notable strikers, Black has previously discussed his passion for martial arts and has briefly undergone MMA training with CM Punk.

Black has now opened up on a new project he is working on, which will also involve Punk, that sees people talking about how they got into martial arts.

Speaking on Casual Conversations, Black said: "I started filming a show for Hayabusa, which is coming out soon, it's called Throwing Hands. It's basically me with friends with CM Punk and we talk about how mixed martial arts, or martial arts in general, influenced him in his road to being a professional wrestler.

"There are so many people who have the exact same journey as me. For me to be able to talk to these guys about their journey in martial arts and tying it into professional wrestling. Everyone has their own story the same way I did.

"I always wanted to be a professional wrestler, but because I was a kid when I watched wrestling, I thought it was martial arts. I grew up in an era of like the early 90s and 80s where we had Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kickboxer, we had Bloodsport and Best of the Best. To me, what wrestling looked like two guys competing, jockeying for position, punching and kicking.

"For me, it translated to martial arts. Later on, I realized it wasn't the same, but I was hooked."
