AEW's Mark Henry Critical Of WWE Booking: "I Feel Like My Intelligence Is Being Insulted”

Henry is not the world’s strongest fan of WWE’s booking

Ronda Rousey’s WWE return has been divisive, with Rousey winning the Royal Rumble, and challenging SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38 after eliminating 'The Queen' from the Rumble itself.

Despite the angle between Rousey and Flair being obvious, WWE teased on RAW that Rousey would fight RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at Mania, with Flair taking on Sasha Banks, before reverting to the status quo on the next episode of SmackDown. And it seems AEW’s Mark Henry is not a fan of how WWE have handled things, saying on Busted Open Radio:

“You know, I know the answer to this but I thought there was a legitimate brand split. I thought that people on Monday do Monday things, and people on Friday do Friday things. I can honestly say that I am genuinely tired of it. Listen, if y’all going to mash ’em, just mash ’em. Make one set of titles for the company - if one brand does not have the title on it, have the number one contender on the other brand. The pay-per-views can be challenges. It’s ridiculous, man. If you’re going to do it, do it… or don’t. I was in defence of it all these years but I can’t do that anymore. I feel like my intelligence is being insulted. Keep people where they belong.”

WWE’s adherence to the brand split has been loose at best, such as RAW superstar Big E being sent back to SmackDown to reunite with New Day team-mates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods in recent weeks, with no 'formal trade' being made.
