AEW's Ruby Soho: I Never Built A Relationship With WWE's Vince McMahon

Ruby Soho speaks about her relationship with Vince McMahon

Speaking on a recent episode of Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette AEW's Ruby Soho has gone into detail about her relationship, or lack thereof, with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Soho previously explained that she was heartbroken when she found out about her release from WWE and so Paquette asked what her relationship was like with her former boss.

The former Riott Squad member said: "We didn’t speak very often. I’d see him after matches and stuff. We didn’t really talk, he was always so busy...I think I spoke to him in his office probably in four years, twice?

"But I also wasn’t one of those people, and I think maybe this was my own fault. I wasn’t at his door all the time. And I wasn’t trying to make more of a connection and make more of a relationship. He’s so busy that I, I feel like...you hired me because you trust me that I know what I’m doing."

Elaborating further she said: "that was one of the things. I don’t want to insult you by wasting your time and being like ‘hey, why am I not booked?’ I understand it’s wrestling, I get it... But him being so busy, unless I had something important to talk to him about, I didn’t want to waste his time."

Ruby Soho was signed to WWE in 2016 and stayed with the company until her release in June 2021. She would soon after sign with AEW and appear at All Out 2021 and won the Casino Battle Royale to challenge Britt Baker for the AEW Women's Championship. She would go on to lose the match with Baker on the September 22nd edition of AEW Dynamite but has solidified herself as a member of the AEW women's division.
