AEW Scraps Idea For Wendi Richter Appearance Due To WWE Legends Deal

No Wendi Richter plans in AEW

While Wendi Richter recently indicated she was open to facing Toni Storm in All Elite Wrestling, don't expect the WWE Hall of Famer to actually pop up on AEW Dynamite, Collision, or Rampage.

According to Fightful Select, Wendi Richter won't be appearing on AEW TV any time soon and the promotion may stop referencing her. Toni Storm had consistently mentioned Richter since revealing her "Timeless" character in late 2023.

Fightful noted that AEW considering bringing in Wendi Richter for an appearance but Richter popping up is considered unlikely as she is actually signed to a WWE Legends deal. Such a contract traditionally prevents talents from appearing in other promotions.

Wendi Richter was famously part of the Rock 'n' Wrestling period of WWE in the 1980s and she is a two-time WWE Women's Champion. Richter also held the AWA Women's Championship. The 63-year-old has not wrestled since the WrestleReunion 2 event in August 2005.

Toni Storm has been the AEW Women's World Champion in her third reign since Full Gear 2023. Storm has successfully defended the title against the likes of Riho, Skye Blue, Deonna Purrazzo, and Thunder Rosa.
