AEW Scraps Plans For Major Full Gear Match

Plans for a major match at AEW Full Gear have been scrapped

We are less than a month away from the last of All Elite Wrestling’s traditional ‘big four’ pay per view events, with Full Gear set for LA on November 18.

The card for Full Gear has already started taking shape, with MJF vs. Jay White for the AEW World Championship believed to be headlining the show. However, reports for a major AEW World Tag Team Title match on the card have reportedly been scrapped, per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Per Meltzer’s report, plans were supposedly in place to run FTR vs The Young Bucks IV at Full Gear, but it seems that is off the table for now. FTR dropped the tag titles to Ricky Starks and Big Bill several weeks back, and were originally set to regain the titles in a rematch with the winners facing The Bucks at Full Gear - an idea apparently suggested by FTR themselves.

The Young Bucks won a four-team match at WrestleDream on October 1 to win a future shot at the straps, but this fact seemingly hasn’t been brought up on AEW TV since. The last time FTR and The Bucks clashed was at All In in August, with Matt and Nick Jackson taking the loss and refusing to shake hands with their rivals afterwards, sowing the seeds for another encounter.

For Full Gear, Meltzer speculates that they could run the FTR vs. Starks and Bill rematch there instead of on TV, with the rematch originally planned for the October 28 Collision.
