AEW Signs Mercedes Moné

Mercedes Moné is signed with AEW

If it wasn't obvious enough following Tony Khan's big announcement, Mercedes Moné is All Elite.

Fightful Select have reported that Mercedes Moné is indeed heading to All Elite Wrestling. In a joint report with Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Fightful noted that an agreement between AEW and Mercedes Moné has been in place since around late December.

AEW and Moné had flirted with each other stretching back to the Summer of 2023 but the two sides couldn't come to terms. WWE and Moné then held talks but those negotiations also broke down. Soon after, talks continued between AEW and Moné and an agreement was in place around December 29. She has been on AEW's payroll since at least early January.

AEW considered debuting Moné on February 7 but it was decided to announce "Big Business" for Boston's TD Garden on March 13 instead and those plans had been in place for several weeks.

Moné was previously a part of WWE until she walked out of the company with Naomi following a creative dispute with Vince McMahon in May 2022. Moné then debuted in New Japan Pro-Wrestling in January 2023 and she wrestled for the company until May when she suffered a serious ankle injury. As Moné will be a part of All Elite Wrestling, New Japan sources expect to have the ability to continue working with Moné and it has been discussed.
