Tony Khan's Big AEW Announcement Revealed

Tony Khan’s big announcement revealed on AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan made his latest ‘big announcement’ on the February 7 edition of AEW Dynamite, with Khan claiming that what’s to come will be very important for not only AEW but ‘the entire pro-wrestling industry’.

A leak from the Boston TD Garden website earlier on February 7 suggested that AEW were returning to the Garden on March 13, with Khan confirming the news on Dynamite. Khan announced that the AEW show will be titled ‘Big Business’, and will run as a special edition of Dynamite.

The event poster seems to confirm many suspicions that Big Business will see the arrival of Mercedes Moné in AEW, with graphics showing the word ‘BO$$TON’, a very on the nose reference to the former ‘Legit Boss Sasha Banks’.

AEW issued the following press release hyping the show:

"February 7, 2024 – During tonight’s live episode of “AEW: Dynamite” from the Footprint  Center in Phoenix, AEW CEO Tony Khan announced that the promotion will return to Boston  on Wednesday, March 13, at TD Garden with “AEW Dynamite: Big Business,” live on TBS.

"The announcement marks AEW’s second show at TD Garden, after “AEW Dynamite: Blood  and Guts” last summer, which featured the third annual instalment of the eponymous  match. This time around, fans can expect more incredible moments during this historic edition of “AEW: Dynamite.”

"Tickets for “AEW Dynamite: Big Business” will go on pre-sale on Friday, February 9, and  open to the general public on Saturday, February 10. Tickets start at $20 plus fees, and can  be purchased at AEWTix.com.

“Boston is the perfect home for ‘AEW Dynamite: Big Business,’ which will be a major  moment in history of All Elite Wrestling,” said Khan. “You all have a chance to be a part of  this once-in-a-lifetime moment, either by joining us live at the TD Garden or watching live  on TBS on Wednesday, March 13!”

TD Garden has a capacity of just under 20,000 so AEW will obviously hope the tease of Moné will be enough to draw fans in, with AEW drawing just shy of 9,000 for their last trip to The Garden for Blood & Guts III in 2023.

Whilst Moné seems a lock for the show, some online have also speculated that the night could also see the arrival of Kazuchika Okada, with the ‘Rainmaker’ also having a money laden gimmick. Whilst reports suggest that AEW could be in pole position to sign the NJPW legend, nothing has been confirmed.
