AEW Signs Paige VanZant

"12 Gauge" is All Elite

Former UFC star Paige VanZant has signed with All Elite Wrestling, as represented in an on-screen angle, and then confirmed by Tony Khan.

VanZant attacked Tay Conti on Wednesday, during the closing stages of the TNT title bout pitting champion Sammy Guevara (Conti's boyfriend) against Scorpio Sky (associated with VanZant through Dan Lambert). It was VanZant beating Conti down at ringside that distracted Guevara long enough for Scorpio to pin the champion following a TKO.

After Guevara and Conti were both laid out inside the ring, VanZant signed her AEW contract on Conti's body.

Following the show-closing angle, Khan tweeted out the standard welcome.

The storyline was that if Khan granted Sky a TNT title shot on this week's Dynamite, Lambert would get VanZant to sign with AEW.

VanZant previously appeared alongside Lambert and his Men of the Year/American Top Team faction, particularly during the feud with The Inner Circle last autumn.

During her MMA career, VanZant forged a record of eight wins and five losses. She last fought in UFC in July 2020, a submission loss to Amanda Ribas.
