AEW Star Cleared For In-Ring Return

An AEW star is set to return to in-ring action

A long absent All Elite Wrestling star has been cleared to make their return to in-ring competition, with a return match scheduled for the June 5 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Having last wrestled on the Homecoming special on Rampage in January, Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler Yuta has been cleared to wrestle, with Yuta set to team with BCC team mates Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Claudio Castagnoli against the CMLL team of Volador Jr, Magnus, Rugido, and Esfinge.

The match was confirmed by AEW President Tony Khan on X/Twitter, and will mark Yuta’s first match since taking on Eddie Kingston in January. Whilst AEW were at first quiet on the nature of Yuta’s absence, it was later revealed that the three-time ROH PURE Champion had been dealing with concussion symptoms ‘for months’.

Yuta was recently backstage at AEW Double or Nothing in Los Angeles, prompting rumours of an imminent return. Yuta was originally to team with the BCC against a team of CMLL legends at Homenaje a Dos Leyendas in March but was replaced by Matt Sydal for the bout.
