AEW Star Returns To The Ring After Being Banged Up

An AEW star is back in action

An All Elite Wrestling star has returned to the ring.

It emerged in recent weeks that Rey Fenix has been granted time off by AEW due to being banged up, with the belief being that Fenix was dealing with a hip issue. The former AAA Mega Champion was said to be hurting following The Lucha Brothers' successful defence of the ROH World Tag Team Titles against Powerhouse Hobbs and QT Marshall at Battle of the Belts VI in early April.

In an update, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Fenix returned to the ring on Saturday, April 30 at a self-promoted show in the parking lot of the Republic of Lucha store in Pasadena, California which he owns with his brother and tag team partner Penta El Zero Miedo. Fenix defeated "Speedball" Mike Bailey in what was said to be a great main event.

Fenix and Penta also celebrated their 17th year in pro wrestling and they were presented with a cake. In typical pro wrestling fashion, the action descended into a food fight.

Fenix will make his AEW in-ring return with Penta and El Hijo Del Vikingo in a Trios Battle Royal on the Wednesday, May 3 edition of Dynamite.
