AEW Star Wants IWGP World Heavyweight Title Match

He would like to challenge the winner of the Wrestle Kingdom main event

AEW star Lance Archer has thrown out the challenge for a future IWGP World Heavyweight Title match.

Taking to Twitter, The Murderhawk Monster responded to a promo he cut lobbying for a title shot (was posted by the NJPW World account), writing: "It's easy. I want to fight the winner of Wrestle Kingdom! @rainmakerXokada @JayWhiteNZ IDGAF! LETS GO! @njpw1972 @njpwglobal Don't FEAR THE FIGHT!".

The former three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Title winner has never won New Japan's top prize. In fact, the 45-year-old has yet to receive a shot at the title in the 11 years he has been a regular.

Archer is currently on tour with New Japan and recently competed in the 2022 World Tag League (teaming with Minoru Suzuki). His last AEW match was a loss to Ricky Starks in the first round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament on the November 18 episode of Rampage.

Earlier this year, Archer's manager Jake 'The Snake' Roberts expressed his frustration at his on-screen client's current spot with Tony Khan's promotion.
