AEW Stars Set For NJPW Resurgence

AEW talents in action at NJPW Resurgence

All Elite Wrestling will have a presence on New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Resurgence show from Long Beach, California on May 21.

In addition to Willow Nightingale, who will be involved in the NJPW STRONG Women's Title tournament, Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta of Blackpool Combat Club are scheduled to team with Shota Umino against Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, and Rocky Romero in a headline match at Resurgence.

It was announced earlier this week that Jon Moxley would be in action at Resurgence and the former AEW World Champion followed up by revealing he will be returning to Japan at Dominion. Moxley will team with Shota Umino and another partner to challenge Okada, Ishii, and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships at the June 4 event.

Another AEW talent in Juice Robinson will also be in action at Resurgence when he goes one-on-one with Fred Rosser in a Street Fight. The two competitors have had issues since February when Robinson cost Rosser the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. AEW's Christopher Daniels is scheduled to face Alex Coughlin on the Resurgence pre-show.

Elsewhere at Resurgence, Hiroshi Tanahashi will face Will Ospreay to determine who will wrestle Lance Archer in the final of the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title tournament at Dominion. Mercedes Moné, Stephanie Vaquer, Momo Kohgo, and the aforementioned Willow Nightingale will compete in a four-woman tournament to crown the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women's Champion. The final of the tournament will main event Resurgence.
