When AEW went on a massive talent acquisition spree in 2021, many at the time said that such roster expansions would lead to locker-room unease, as there are only so many spots on TV for wrestlers to ply their trade.

Reports of such unease have been consistent over the past year, with the likes of Miro, Malakai Black, Brian Cage, and Andrade El Idolo all believed to have been frustrated at a perceived lack of TV time, and now another name has seemingly spoken of their frustration, with Lance Archer saying the following on Twitter:

“51 days since I laced up my boots last! NOT by choice!”

The ‘Murderhawk Monster’ last wrestled on December 23 2022, wrestling in an eight-man tag for New Japan that marked the end of Suzuki-gun. As for AEW, Archer hasn’t appeared since the November 18 edition of AEW Rampage, losing to Ricky Starks in the World Title Eliminator Tournament. This in turn was Archer’s first non-Dark/Dark Elevation appearance since September 2022.

The 45 year-old veteran has been part of AEW since 2020, winning the 2020 Casino Battle Royale whilst splitting his time with New Japan. In NJPW, Archer is a two-time IWGP US Heavyweight Champion, and three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion with Davey Boy Smith Jr. as the Killer Elite Squad.
