AEW Teasing Kazuchika Okada Debut?

Could The Rainmaker appear on an AEW broadcast?

AEW either have something up their sleeves, or they are mean mean teases, as they are seemingly teasing the arrival of Kazuchika Okada to AEW.

As seen on last night’s edition of AEW: Dynamite, CHAOS member Rocky Romero relayed an invitation from Okada himself for Best Friends to join CHAOS. Romero was also in action against Bryan Danielson in the opening bout of the programme, where Tony Schiavone casually mentioned CHAOS leader Okada’s name on commentary during the bout.

But that was simply two mentions of Okada amongst half a dozen across a 24 hour period, with Schiavone mentioning ‘The Rainmaker’ on an AEW ‘Event Center’ video to hype up the week leading into Full Gear, as well as mentioning fellow CHAOS member ‘The Stone Pitbull’ Tomohiro Ishii.

Whilst AEW aren’t afraid to mention wrestling that occurs outside of their own promotion, there’s usually a reason for it, and by specifically mentioning Okada and Ishii by name you’d like to think there’s more to this than meets the eye.

Indeed, Okada and Ishii are set to be in the United States this week, with both set for NJPW’s Battle in the Valley event in California on November 13. Whilst this would surely rule them out of appearing at Full Gear on the same night, there is a chance they could make Dynamite on November 17 if there is a deal in place.

Aside from mentioning the pair on commentary and on the Event Center video, AEW President Tony Khan namedropped Okada in a Tweet confirming Best Friends joining CHAOS, saying:

“Okada has spoken. @orangecassidy + the Best Friends are in CHAOS. Rocky, think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Thank you to you fans who support pro wrestling! See you all TONIGHT for some great wrestling on #AEWDynamite LIVE on TNT @ 8pm ET/7pm CT/6pm MT/5pm PT!”

Kick that forbidden door back open Tony, please.
