AEW Unveils TBS Championship

All Elite Wrestling have unveiled a new championship.

It was announced during the October 6 edition of Dynamite that AEW would be introducing the TBS Championship, a secondary women's title. Tony Schiavone and referee Aubrey Edwards unveiled the title with a presentation in the ring. 

The inaugural champion will be crowned in a tournament next year, with the finals set to be held on January 5, 2022. Who will be in the tournament has yet to be revealed but Thunder Rosa, Jade Cargill, Skye Blue and Ruby Soho all vowed to win the championship in a video package. 

News of AEW introducing a TBS Championship first emerged in late September.

The tournament to crown the inaugural champion will coincide with AEW Dynamite's move to TBS in 2022. It emerged earlier this year that the promotion's flagship show would be moving from TNT to TBS. Rampage was initially set to move networks too but it has since been announced that the Friday night show will remain on TNT.
