Tony Khan Confirms AEW's Hangman Page Asked For Time Off

Ahead of the birth of Page's first child

Tony Khan has confirmed he gave "Hangman" Adam Page time off ahead of the birth of his first child.

The Anxious Millenial Cowboy was originally scheduled to main event All Out and challenge former friend Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship, but the match was changed after Page asked for time off.

Tony Khan ultimately granted the request and Christian Cage went one on one with Kenny Omega instead. Page was written off TV in early August following a beatdown from The Elite.

Speaking about Hangman's absence during the post-All Out media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed he gave Page time off.

"I had a feeling, but I had a lot of backup plans. I would have given him time off either way. I mean, even if I didn't have the guys in, I would have found a way to make it work and accommodate him because it was for a very important reason. He's a big part of AEW. He's one of our really important stars. I really didn't have everything exactly in the place until we got there."

Page revealed in early June that he and his wife were expecting their first child. There is no word on when he will return to AEW.
