AEW World Tag Team Title Number One Contenders Confirmed
Who will step up to the AEW World Tag Team Champions?
The October 26 edition of AEW Dynamite confirmed who sits as number one contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Championships, after former champions Swerve In Our Glory overcame FTR.
The match came about in recent weeks, after Keith lee and Swerve Strickland wanted a rematch with The Acclaimed for the gold, whilst FTR pointed out that they have sat as number one contenders for several months without getting a sniff at the belts.
During the match FTR managed to hit Keith Lee with a Big Rig, but were denied the three when Swerve made the save. However, as FTR were looking to build momentum Swerve low blowed Dax Harwood allowing Lee to hit a Big Bang Catastrophe in the centre of the ring, as The Gunns held Cash Wheeler down at ringside, rendering him unable to make the save.
Post-match The Gunns beat down FTR until The Acclaimed ran them off. Colten and Austin Gunn have not revealed their motives for costing FTR, but it is notable that FTR are former allies of MJF who The Gunns were working for as part of The Firm.
FTR remain the combined ROH, IWGP, and AAA Tag Team Champions.
