Amidst the news of WWE exits, it has also been revealed that a wrestler has also left AEW, though in this case it is an instance of a contract expiration rather than a release.
It was initially reported by Fightful Select that EJ Nduka’s AEW deal had come to an end, and he was parting ways with the company, becoming a free agent. Brief appearances took place for Nduka on AEW programming since his signing all the way back in 2023, mostly working in dark matches before tapings. He then began appearing on the ROH brand at the back end of 2024 and into 2025, teaming up with Lee Johnson as part of the LEEJ tag team.
Nduka’s last official AEW match came on the Jericho Cruise in February of this year. He has previously worked in the likes of MLW and briefly in NXT too. According to the report revealing his exit, multiple companies are interested in bringing him in.
Nduka himself responded to news of his parting of ways from AEW in a post to social media.
“I was never meant to sit. Benches were made for the unsure. I’ve heard the call now it’s time to move. If you think this guy was made to ride the bench you need to call the 1800 number cause you suffer from mesothelioma you pencil neck reject.”
