Aiden English Joins WWE 205 Live Commentary Team Through WrestleMania Season
SmackDown Live Superstar will still wrestle...
WWE SmackDown Live Superstar Aiden English will be trading in his wrestling boots for a commentator's headset for the next few weeks at least as he joins the broadcast team on 205 Live.
Despite taking on this new role, WWE noted that English will still be competing in the ring on SmackDown Live.
English will start his new role on tonight's episode (which airs following the conclusion of SmackDown Live), joining Nigel McGuinness and Vic Joseph. English will be replacing NXT's Percy Watson, who has been appearing on 205 Live in recent times.
“We wanted to do something special for WrestleMania season, and Royal Rumble week kicks off the Road to WrestleMania,” Michael Cole told WWE.com. “We’ve been working with Aiden at the WWE Performance Center to see if he has the chops, and it turns out he’s pretty good."
Kalisto vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Hideo Itami will be taking place on tonight's Royal Rumble go-home show, with all three men going on to challenge for Buddy Murphy's Cruiserweight Championship on Sunday in a Fatal 4-Way.
