AJ Styles Reveals Why He No Longer Uses The Spiral Tap
AJ Styles talks about retiring the Spiral Tap

The reason AJ Styles is called ‘Phenomenal’ is because he can do it all; grapple, brawl, fly like a cruiserweight, no style is out of AJ’s reach.
However, there are some moves from Styles’ past that don’t feature in his arsenal anymore, such as the Spiral Tap, with Styles revealing to CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri why he doesn’t bust out the move anymore:
"If you've ever heard, 'if you don't use it, you lose it,' that's 100% the case. It's a very awkward way to flip and do stuff. I had put it on the back burner for so long, I just lost it. It's in my head. I can't pull it off the way… if I can't pull it off the way that I want to do it, I don't want to do it at all. If it's not perfect… I haven't attempted it on a trampoline, in a pool, nothing. It's there for the Ospreays [Will Ospreay] and anybody else who wants to do it," Styles said.
Ospreay uses the move as part of his repertoire, whilst current AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has also been known to break out the move from time-to-time. Styles, for his part, randomly pulled a Burning Hammer out of nowhere during his clash with Cody Rhodes at Backlash 2024.
