AJ Styles' WWE Return 'Just A Matter Of Creative'

Latest on AJ Styles' WWE absence

AJ Styles' WWE return just keeps being pushed back.

Original plans reportedly called for Styles to make his comeback on the November 10 edition of Friday Night SmackDown but WWE ended up scrapping those plans. It then appeared the two-time WWE Champion would be back on TV from December 8, with WWE advertisements on their website for Tribute to the Troops even featuring Styles, but the show ultimately passed without an appearance from AJ.

Styles isn't dealing with any issues, though, and his return is simply a matter of WWE creative, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported.

"It's just a matter of WWE creative. My guess is the latest he comes back is the Rumble but it could be any week. Gallows and Anderson are back. They have been backstage for the last couple of weeks of SmackDown. The initial plan for AJ was to return about three weeks ago... and they just changed their decision and creative," Johnson stated.

WWE are set to hold the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 27. AJ Styles has been off TV since September following a backstage attack by The Bloodline.
