Alex Shelley Makes WWE Debut At NXT Live Event

The Time Splitters Reunite!

On the January 8th episode of NXT, announcer Mauro Ranallo revealed that The Time Splitters would be reuniting as Alex Shelley was announced as Kushida's mystery partner for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Shelley and The Ace Of The Jrs previously teamed together in New Japan Pro Wrestling from 2012 to 2015 and enjoyed a successful spell as partners, winning the 2012 Super Juniors Tag Team Tournament and twice capturing the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships.

Before they face Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle on Wednesday, The Time Splitters were looking to regain their old chemistry over the weekend at NXT house shows. Shelley made his debut on January 10th as he and Kushida faced off against The Forgotten Sons in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They have seemingly not lost a step together as they made quick work of Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake.

After making his debut, the former ROH star expressed how happy he was on Twitter, writing: "I've more to say, but wrestling for @WWE and @WWENXT specifically has been a dream of mine for awhile. I have had to do a lot of hard things in life, especially the last few years. But so have you. If a single person can draw some inspiration and strength from this? Win. Thanks."
