A new champion will be crowned
Oct 14, 2021
Alexander Hammerstone reached the top of the mountain in Major Wrestling Wrestling on October 7 at Fightland as the National Openweight Champion defeated Jacob Fatu in a Title vs. Title Match to win the MLW World Championship.
Following the win, Hammerstone relinquished the National Openweight Title to Cesar Duran on the October 13 edition of MLW Fusion ALPHA.
Hammerstone was the inaugural MLW National Openweight Champion, having defeated Brian Pillman Jr. in the tournament final for the gold at Fury Road in June 2019. Hammerstone would then defend the title 14 times over the next 866 days against the likes of Laredo Kid, Mads Krugger, Davey Boy Smith Jr., King Muertes and Tom Lawlor before relinquishing the title.
While giving up the gold on Fusion ALPHA, Hammerstone also agreed to face CONTRA Unit inside War Chamber on November 6 at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena. His first partner will be Richard Holliday, his former Dynasty faction-mate, while EJ Nduka agreed to be the second member of Hammerstone's team.
This will be MLW's first War Chamber Match since 2019.
