WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam made his in-ring return this past weekend, showing up as a surprise during MLW Battle Riot VII.
RVD competed in the eponymous battle royal - where wrestlers can be eliminated by pinfall, submission or being thrown over the top rope - emerging as the final number 40 entrant.
Van Dam was not successful in his attempt at winning the MLW World Heavyweight Championship as Matt Riddle retained his title.
Unfortunately, the 54-year-old didn't leave the ring unscathed, as PWInsider reported that he rolled his ankle during the match and was banged up afterwards. However, he was said to be doing better a day later.
The Whole F'N Show wasn't the only person to come out of Battle Riot VII the worse for wear, as Brock Anderson went to the emergency room after being legitimately busted open by a rough bump into the ring steps. He ended up receiving eight stitches for the laceration.
Rob Van Dam recently spoke about how he would rather be associated with WWE than AEW due to hardcore content, such as the now-infamous Jon Moxley/Cope spike suplex spot.
