Alexander Wolfe, Jessamyn Duke & Others Released By WWE

More releases in WWE

WWE has released several NXT Superstars and developmental talents today.

Fightful first reported that Alexander Wolfe, Vanessa Borne, Jessamyn Duke and Kavita Devi have been let go. Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted Skyler Story and Ezra Judge have also been released.

Similar to the April 15 firings, WWE has cited budget cuts as the reason for the releases.

Alexander Wolfe signed with WWE in 2015. He is a former NXT Tag Team Champion, having held the title with Eric Young and Killian Dain as part of SAnitY. He remained with the faction until they disbanded in 2019 and he would join Imperium soon after and perform in NXT UK and NXT. During his time in Europe, Wolfe would regularly compete for wXw and he captured the wXw Shotgun Championship in March 2020. He never defended the title, though, and was stripped of the gold two months later.

Wolfe's release comes as somewhat of a shock as he last appeared on WWE TV yesterday. He was defeated by Killian Dain in a squash match on NXT and Imperium stablemates Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner later turned on him.

Vanessa Borne joined WWE in 2016 and she made sporadic appearances in NXT during her time with the company. She signed a new WWE deal in early 2020 and was called up to the main roster soon after. She never debuted on Raw or SmackDown, though, and didn't wrestle at all for WWE after January 2020.

One of the Four Horsewomen of MMA, Jessamyn Duke signed with WWE in 2018 and made her debut alongside Marina Shafir at Evolution. They aligned themselves with Shayna Baszler and would make regular appearances alongside The Queen Of Spades on NXT and Raw Underground. Duke had spent recent months working as a content creator on the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel.

Indian professional wrestler Kavita Devi debuted in WWE in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, losing in the first round to Dakota Kai. She signed with the company soon after but only made one further appearance on WWE TV in a Battle Royal at Worlds Collide 2019. She hasn't wrestled at all since an NXT live event in July 2019.

Skyler Story only signed with WWE in August 2020 as one of the former Evolve talents the organisation picked up. She was one of the women in the hot tub with Damian Priest during his North American Title celebration. She also competed in a Battle Royal on the September 23, 2020, episode of NXT.

Ezra Judge signed with WWE in August 2019 after several tryouts. He is a former arena American football player and professional bodybuilder.
