Andrade Makes WWE Return At Royal Rumble

Andrade returns to WWE at the Royal Rumble

Andrade (without El Idolo) is back in WWE.

The former United States Champion had been away from WWE since his release in 2021 but he was expected to make a return in early 2024 following the expiry of his deal with All Elite Wrestling. Andrade was reportedly open to re-signing with AEW at one point until he decided to exit the promotion when his deal expired at the end of 2023 in what has been described as a "frustrating" process. Andrade put over Miro on his way out at AEW Worlds End.

It emerged ahead of Andrade's AEW exit that he looked set for a return to WWE. Some even expected him to pop up at WWE Raw Day 1 but he ultimately made his return at the Royal Rumble, entering the men's Royal Rumble match at #4. Andrade had a very mediocre showing, finishing his Rumble stint as the eighth wrestler to be eliminated, by former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed.

During his first WWE run from 2015 to 2021, Andrade became a one-time NXT Champion and one-time United States Champion.
