Andrade Reacts To WWE Return At Royal Rumble

Andrade is happy to be back in WWE after almost three years away.

One of the big surprises at the 2024 Royal Rumble was the return of Andrade.

The former WWE United States Champion entered the men's Royal Rumble match at number four and lasted 23 minutes before being eliminated by Bronson Reed.

Reflecting on his return after the match, El Idolo told Byron Saxton

"How do I feel? Happy. I'm happy to be here, to be back. I needed to leave, to remember who I was. So now, I am back, I know who I am. And remember, now, nobody's stopping me, okay?".

The former NXT Champion requested his WWE release in March 2021. While his request was initially denied, WWE ultimately granted his release.

He subsequently signed with All Elite Wrestling, making his debut in June 2021. The 34-year-old left Tony Khan's promotion when his contract expired at the end of 2023.

The process of Andrade leaving AEW was described as 'frustrating' by those close to the situation. While Khan left the door for a return open, it was widely expected that Andrade would resurface in WWE.

Andrade's wife, WWE superstar Charlotte Flair, was reportedly pushing for the company to re-sign him.
