Andre Chase has announced that he has been released by WWE.
Taking to X/Twitter, Chase stated:
"Hey, what's up everybody. I just wanted to hop on here and let you all know that as of today, I've officially been released from my WWE contract. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for all the support. Thank you for everybody that threw up the 'U' at the shows, whether you bought my t-shirt, bought my action figure, played with me on WWE 2K. Just know that you truly helped make something out of nothing.
"When I signed with WWE, on the first day it was made abundantly clear that I was never going to be on television. I was never meant to be a Superstar. I was just here to pass on my knowledge to a younger generation. But then something changed, and it was because of your support. It was because of the connection that we had. Suddenly I had whole arenas chanting 'Chase U' and spelling 'Chase U', and I'm forever grateful for everybody that helped me get to that point. We won championships in WWE. That was definitely something that you guys did and I'm so grateful for it. So thank you so much.
"The chapter is closed on my WWE career, but my chapter is not closed on professional wrestling. So stay tuned and hopefully I'm going to be in a town near you very soon. Thank you guys so much."
After performing on the independent wrestling scene and for the likes of Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling NOAH, EVOLVE, and IMPACT Wrestling as Harlem Bravado, Andre Chase signed with WWE in February 2021.
Chase would be featured as part of the 2.0 rebrand of WWE NXT, leading Chase University, which soon became one of NXT's popular acts during the first version of the faction's existence between September 2021 and November 2024. The stable's popularity catapulted Chase U to gold as Andre Chase became a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion, first with Duke Hudson in 2023 and then Ridge Holland in 2024.
Although Chase U would be forced to disband after Andre Chase lost to Ridge Holland, a new version of Chase U would be formed in April 2025 with Andre Chase, Uriah Connors, and Kale Dixon. Connors, however, turned on Chase U to join BirthRight on February 3, 2026.
Andre Chase is one of several WWE departures on April 24, following Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross, Alba Fyre, and Zoey Stark.
