Anna Jay Suffers Shoulder Injury, Could Miss 6-12 Months

News comes ahead of her Eliminator tournament match

AEW announced Monday that Anna Jay has sustained a shoulder injury that will require surgery. The recovery time is expected to shelf her anywhere from six months to a year.

As a result of the injury, Jay will be replaced in the AEW Women's Eliminator tournament by Madi Wrenkowski, a protege and student of Thunder Rosa.

Wrenkowski has appeared on several episodes of AEW Dark, dating back to December. She's wrestled the likes of Red Velvet, Leva Bates, and Leyla Hirsch.

Jay last wrestled on the January 12 episode of AEW Dark, defeating Alex Gracia.

Wrenkowski replaces Jay in a match against Dr. Britt Baker, DMD in the Women Eliminator Round of 16, which broadcasts tonight on YouTube.

Also scheduled for tonight's broadcast is the last remaining US opening round match, pitting Nyla Rose against Tay Conti, as well as the Japanese bracket semi-final bouts (Yuka Sakazaki vs. Emi Sakura and Ryo Mizunami vs. Aja Kong).

The tournament final takes place on Wednesday, March 3, with the winner advancing to face AEW Women's champion Hikaru Shida at Revolution on March 7.
