Another Kenny Omega Singles Match Was Considered For AEW All In

Kenny Omega singles matches were under consideration for AEW All In

Heading into AEW All In 2023, some fans were disappointed that Kenny Omega would not be in singles action on the card, with ‘The Best Bout Machine’ instead booked in a six-man tag match.

It was later revealed that Omega vs. Bryan Danielson II was initially considered for the event until Danielson’s arm injury at Forbidden Door 2023 put him on the shelf, and during the All Out pre-show media call, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that he also considered putting Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita in singles action on the Wembley Stadium card.

Khan ultimately decided to put Omega with Kota Ibushi and Hangman Page against Takeshita and Bullet Club Gold at All In, saying it made sense as a throwback to the original All In that featured members of The Elite in six-man action. Khan also revealed that Omega was excited about doing the Takeshita singles match in Chicago, and has personally been championing Takeshita to Tony Khan for years.

The on-screen issues between Omega and Takeshita have been bubbling for several months, and Takeshita’s shock roll-up pin over Omega at All In will only further exacerbate their issues.
