Report: Special Guest Appearance Planned For WWE Payback

A special guest appearance is in the works for Saturday's WWE Payback pay-per-view from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

According to WrestleVotes, there have been rumblings within WWE about bringing in a special guest host for Payback and that host will be none other than John Cena.

The 16-time world champion is scheduled to make his return to WWE TV on tonight's episode of SmackDown from the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania before he heads to India next week for WWE Superstar Spectacle on September 8. Cena is scheduled to team with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins against Imperium's Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. 

Cena will remain a fixture on Friday Night SmackDown through to the October 27 episode of SmackDown, with Cena set to host children and their families at the shows as part of his partnership with Make-A-Wish. 

Several matches have already been announced for WWE Payback, including Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the World Heavyweight Title, and a Steel City Street Fight of Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor & Damian Priest for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.
